Hunt Residencies IX

My work explores the quiet, elusive terrain of memory and nostalgia — the way time reshapes truth, and how the past continues to echo through the present. I am drawn to the moments that slip between clarity and distortion: a half-remembered face, the feel of sunlight through an old window, the weight of silence in a familiar room. These fragments of experience, real or imagined, become the raw materials for my painting practice. I attempt to strike a chord in my audience by taking them back to a distant yet familiar mental space by depicting vintage memorabilia and stereotypical feminine imagery in combination with gilding colored leaf. I find the nature of leaf very relatable to delicate memories that can flash before us, as they can be beautiful yet fleeting.
